Under God’s leadership, Mullins First Baptist Church will strive to exemplify a loving personal relationship with Jesus Christ. We will demonstrate this personal relationship to individuals beyond our membership by growing spiritually and personally proclaiming God’s Word and through our lives.
Leadership Team:
Our leadership team recognizes the authority of God, and realizes that we are shepherds who serve under the Chief Shepherd, Jesus Christ. We desire to devote ourselves to prayer and to the ministry of the Word. Our passion and goal is to equip the believers for the work of the ministry until we all attain maturity in the fullness of Christ.
Meet the Staff
Pastor Robbie Baxley
Senior Pastor
Robbie is a life long native of Mullins. He has been a Deacon, Sunday School teacher, and in numerous ministry leadership positions here at MFBC for many years.
Robbie was in the medical field as a Director of Radiology for over 22 years before God called him into full time ministry.
He recently became the Senior Pastor on March 3, 2019 at MFBC where he was licensed and ordained as a minister.
He and his wife Caroline have one daughter, Katelyn.
Rich Smith
Associate Pastor of Youth / Education
Rich has been a youth pastor for 20 years in local churches in Kentucky and Tennessee before starting at Mullins First Baptist in 2015. He and his wife, Shayla have four children and make a dynamic ministry team. They are dedicated to seeing all generations in a church come together to worship and serve, and that those disciples will be committed to making more disciples.
Sandy Stiles
Minister of Worship / Senior Adult Coordinator
Sandy Stiles began her ministry at First Baptist Church in November, 2009, but has been in the ministry for over 30 years. Before coming to First Baptist church, she served several churches in North Carolina. Sandy and her husband, Jeff, have a son, Christopher. She has a passion for worship and enjoys leading others in worship.
Kansas Harrelson
Ministry Assistant / Nursery Coordinator
Kansas has been a member of Mullins First Baptist Church since 2014. In April 2021, Kansas began duties as the Ministry Assistant and Nursery Coordinator. She has lived in Mullins most of her life with her husband Davis, and sons Lee and Ty.
Ashley Lewis Butler
Ministry Assistant / Office Manager
Ashley has been a Ministry Assistant at Mullins First Baptist Church since December of 2016. She has lived in Mullins most of her life, but now lives in the Green Sea area with her husband, Michael, and daughters, Haley and McKinley.
Gwen Poffenberger
Children’s Ministry Coordinator.
Gwen Poffenberger is a passionate and dedicated Children's Ministry Coordinator with over 20 years of experience working with children and youth. With a heart for nurturing young minds, Gwen has been a guiding light in creating engaging and interactive programs that help children develop a strong foundation in their faith with Jesus Christ. Her commitment to serve has positively impacted the lives of countless families and continues to be a source of inspiration for all.
