Annie Armstrong
Each year, we honor the life and work of Annie Walker Armstrong (1850-1938) by giving to the annual offering for North American missions named after her. As a tireless servant of God and a contagious advocate and supporter of mission efforts throughout the world, Annie Armstrong led women to unite in mission endeavors that ultimately led to the formation of Woman’s Missionary Union, for which she served as the first corresponding secretary.
Operation Christmas Child
Operation Christmas Child brings joy and hope to children in desperate situations around the world through gift-filled shoe boxes and the Good News of God’s love. Since 1993, more than 69 million shoe boxes have been packed, shipped, and delivered across the globe. People of all ages can be involved in this simple, hands-on missions project while focusing on the true meaning of Christmas—Jesus Christ.
Connie Maxwell
Connie Maxwell Children’s Home provides hope for children and families dealing with difficult situations in their lives. This residential childcare ministry is headquartered in Greenwood, S.C., with four other campuses across the state. It is our wish that you will enjoy your visit at Connie Maxwell while on the web! The Cooperative Program
Churches in our state work together through our state convention and our national convention to support a wide array of ministries and missions including: evangelism efforts, children’s homes, volunteer missions, missions education, new churches, colleges and universities, collegiate ministries, camps, and much more. Janie Chapman Offering
In 1902, Janie Weston Chapman was elected the first president of Woman’s Missionary Union, Auxiliary to South Carolina Baptist Convention. She was the wife of a prominent upstate pastor, J.D. Chapman. In 1937, WMU’s state missions offering was named “The Mrs. J.D. Chapman Offering for State Interests” to honor Mrs. Chapman’s strong missions leadership.
Lottie Moon
Lottie Moon—the namesake of the international missions offering—has become something of a legend. But in her time Lottie was anything but an untouchable hero. In fact, she was like today’s missionaries. She was a hard-working, deep-loving Southern Baptist who labored tirelessly so her people group could know Jesus
World Hunger
World Hunger is a serious problem whether it be in our back yard or in another country. At Mullins First Baptist we have a concert in October to support the World Hunger relief. 100% of all proceeds go towards the World Hunger. There are singing and musician talents from all over the area that perform with different instruments in our Sanctuary.
As you can see, if you have read to this point, that Mullins First Baptist Church is very active. We believe in giving back to community and to helping the cause of spreading the love of Jesus Christ.
